About Me

Hi, I’m Dr. Devon Taylor — a technology enthusiast, educator, and the Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Shenandoah University. I’ve always been passionate about how technology can transform education, empower people, and open up new possibilities for innovation.

At Shenandoah, I lead our IT strategy across the university, ensuring that our students, faculty, and staff have the tools and support they need to succeed in a technology-driven world. We’re proud to be a campus where every student and faculty member is equipped with a MacBook and iPad, and where innovation is part of our everyday culture.

Beyond my role as CIO, I teach in the School of Business and the School of Education, helping students understand how technology, AI, and digital tools are shaping the future of work and learning. I also give talks and lead workshops on AI, emerging technologies, and leadership in a digital age — all topics I’m deeply excited about.

I created EdTechGeek to share what I learn, explore new ideas, and help others stay ahead in a fast-changing world. I believe that technology should feel empowering, not overwhelming. Through this platform, I hope to make tech, AI, and innovation more accessible to educators, business leaders, and lifelong learners alike.

Outside of work, I’m always experimenting with new tools, building ideas into projects, and looking for creative ways to use technology to solve real-world problems. Thanks for visiting — and I hope you’ll join me in geeking out over all the amazing ways technology can change our lives for the better.
